Wedding Photojournalism: Mallory + Dan in Love in San Antonio, Texas and Celebrate at The Dominion
I had the pleasure of capturing Mallory and Dan living it up and in love two years prior to their marriage while photographing her sisters wedding. (If by chance you missed the blog post about Kelly and Ken’s wedding click HERE) It’s really cool to look back at those photos and know that they were on the path to becoming man and wife. I will also always love this one of Mallory dancing with my son, Graeme, who was only 8 months old!
Fast forward to July 28, 2012 and my family and I are back in San Antonio once again. Their family welcomed us into their home to relax at the rehearsal dinner and were also gracious enough to invite my husband and son to the wedding. It meant a lot to be able to have my family with me as they are a big part of why I am doing this whole wedding photography thing. I can’t resist sharing an image of my boys…they helped me get my settings dialed in for the group formals at the church. (that is the face Graeme makes when asked to make “the cute face”)
The ceremony took place at the St. Peter the Apostles Catholic Church in Boerne, (“pronounced Bernie”) Texas. I really enjoy photographing in this church for the openness of the space as well as the more than average amount of available light which also adds to the great color in the final images. Both my favorite images from Mallory and Dan’s wedding and Kelly and Ken’s wedding were taken during the ceremony at this church. (Mallory and Dan’s is at the top of the post.)
The reception was held at The Dominion Country Club in San Antonio and even though it was about a hundred degrees we were able to take advantage of their well groomed outdoor space for relaxed portraits. While I was taking the more formal shots my second photographer, Allison Marshall (http://www.alliedeanphotographie.blogspot.com/), had a much more interesting angle on the bridal party than I did. I really enjoyed this moment so thank you Allison!
this was my angle
Here are a couple more images from us that day that I believe stood out amongst the rest:
No doubt these two won’t ever forget the good times they shared with family and friends that day…and if they need a little reminder I think I can help them out with that
